Gift Idea- Table Runner

One of my good friends was having a birthday last week and I needed a little something for a gift. We don't do big presents, just little things, but I was hoping to get creative and come up with something she'd really like. I decided on making this table runner! I love how it looks on my table but it also matches her house perfectly. It took about 10 minutes to make and she loved it!
I think this might be my go-to gift for friends this year! So easy, not very expensive, but so fun. Who doesn't love a new pretty table runner to change up their table ?!
I pared it with some monogrammed note cards I found at a sale. Such a fun gift! Happy Birthday my friend :-)

Preschool Pillow

My second baby just started preschool for the first time!!  It's only 2 days a week for 2 hrs. and 45 min. but it's his first step away from being under my wings.  I wanted him to have a little piece of my while he was gone so I let him go through my blue fabric bin (his favorite) and choose fabric to make him his preschool pillow.  They use this each class for their quiet time (where they transition from outside to inside time).  I loved what he picked.  And he LOVED the big R on it.

It's made out of all minky fabric and is just a cover so I can wash it when it's sent home.  Too bad on day 1, he got it confiscated for participating in a pillow fight!  Next time, he'll get to lay and love it :-)

Repurposing Strawberry Baskets

Good bye summer! It's been fun. But I do admit I'm looking forward to fall...warming the house baking...the smell of pumpkin...falling leaves...wearing jeans. But as I was tossing some of my last strawberry baskets of the summer, I realized how cute these little baskets where and decided they could definitely be used again.
I decided to wrap pretty pink satin ribbon around the basket and make a handle out of cute polka dot ribbon and add some filling.
All it needs are some cute treats, a little present, and it's ready to go for a friend. I used these for some ladies I visit each month. It's a very fun and inexpensive way to dress up a little gift!

Hometown Quilt

What do you think? This is a sneek peak of the quilt for my sons new big boy bed! The pattern is called Hometown. It's an old pattern from an old quilt magazine I got from my sister's mother-in-law. I thought it looked so boy'ish. Their room is all blue and white with just a few red accents. I'll post a picture of it once I get it back from getting quilted. I'm so excited to finally get this done!!
