Custom Upholstery Project

So I've never upholstered anything before but got a call asking me if I could make a window seat cushion for a client. Sure I thought. Probably like a pillowcase and pretty easy. Boy was I wrong. It's a HUGE trapezoid size, and needed 2 layers of custom cording and an upholstery zipper. It was crazy hard, my machine hated going through all the thick layers but we made it!! I also did a dog bed and 3 coordinating pillows. Kinda crazy few days getting this done. The foam piece took up most of my living room floor! But I think it turned out good. Who knew I could upholster :-)
The finished product! 4 in thick window seat cushion and 3 coordinating pillows!
I had to make the cording in matching fabric. Then did a double layer, top and bottom. These pointed corners where tough.
The zipper on the side of the matching dog bed. I'm so proud of my zippers :-)

Smocked Summer Dresses

I was at my mom's sewing this week and we had so much fun getting side tracked! We're trying to work on this massive quilt project for my grandma's birthday. It's tedious and we still have a long way to go. It's much more fun working on our squares together so we can chat while we sew. But we also decided to do another little project and make smocked sundresses! My mom learned how to do this and made one for my little girl, Jayne, and I decided I had to have one too! I love it and am going to make several more to wear the rest of the summer for both Jayne and myself. They really are an almost 1 size fits all. My sisters and brother's girlfriends were all trying the same dress on and we're all different sizes and it looked good on everyone. Kinda crazy. I think I might make a few to sell in my shop!

Quick Wedding Present

Looking to add a little personalization to a wedding gift. I included these towels in my gift and I think it added the perfect touch. I embroidered these kitchen towels in about 15 minutes, start to finish. I thought it turned out cute! Someday I'll get my own done :-)

Custom Order Baby Blue & Chocolate Brown

I just finished this adorable custom blanket order in baby blue and brown. I loved the polka dots mixing the two colors. I think it looks cuter in person. The blanket's cute, but it's adorable when you see it with the matching baby bedding!! This is from Restoration Hardware Baby. Love it!

Happy 4th of July!

Here's a few projects and decorating we did for the 4th! I hope everyone has a wonderful day and weekend!

I've been working on this wall hanging for 4th of July! I got the pattern from my friend Julie! I just love it. This pic is before I put the binding on it, but it's the best shot with the lighting. I just love it!
I framed this quilt block. I think it turned out really cute.

A few of our little cute decorations.
