Baby Shower Invite

I love my Silhouette machine. It helps me make cool things like this....
A few would have been fun. Unfortunately I had to do 25. Took a long time to put together. But I love it!

Saturday Outfit

We started our Saturday with a little adventure doing this...
then, came home and had a little time while my little guy was sleeping and before dinner plans, so I made Jayne this little skirt with matching top.
I just happen to find the matching top at Target and the adorable fabric at Joann's. It's a white polka dot underneath. The top fabric had to be lined. I used the same drop skirt pattern from this blog. It turned out so cute. The perfect little outfit to wear to an early spring dinner. :-)
Try this skirt. It's easy (under 2 hours start to finish, with interruptions). you won't be disappointed.

Dress Lesson

I am lucky enough to have an amazing seamstress for a mom. She's the one who taught me to sew and I continue my sewing lessons every chance I get. I wanted to work on setting sleeves, zippers, and overall dress making from patterns (like lining, pockets, etc). So I picked this pattern to make a dress for myself and get some more sewing lessons.
I LOVE how it turned out! I chose a brown thick cotton with some stretch to it. Expensive but worth it. It turned out so nice. This picture is courtesy of my 4 year old, so it's looking a little like the camera was close to the ground. Oh well. I learned a lot making this dress and can't wait to try it again :-) Thanks for the lessons Mom!

Never Gets Old

the smell of fresh baked bread, that is. I've been making my homemade bread every week for over 17 months now and I'm not going back. I love not buying store bought bread and most of all I love the taste and smell of home made bread!! So, after 17 months, I finally caved in and bought some fun things for my bread.

1- A really cool slicer. Sadly, I could never cut my slices straight or even. Now, their perfect! And I got this amazing, ginormous bread knife. It's fun!
2- Bread bags! Oh the simple things in life. I was having to cut the end off each loaf to fit in ziplock bags. Dumb. LOVE these bread bags. Makes it so simple.
Big thanks to my friend Karen for helping me realize I needed these necessities :-) You can buy them online at pleasant hills. And if you want a recap on the bread tutorial, click HERE. I LOVE this recipe and so has everyone who's made it. Now all I need is my wheat grinder. Maybe for mothers day? :-)

Birthday

I'll probably never get these done for myself, but I really want them. At least I get them done for some Birthday gifts! Hope you had a good one Jenni!

Ready for Spring...

I don't know about you, but I'm ready for spring! I finally finished this top to match the skirt I made Jayne around Christmas time. It's finally warming up enough to wear it! Can't wait for Spring! **Skirt pattern is the twirly skirt patterns from previous post. Tshirt is from Target with matching applique. I tried to find a shirt to match but none of the pinks or browns would go so, had to make my own.

Door Sign

I've never made my own door sign, but decided to try. This cost me almost nothing and I think is just as cute as something I would have found at Joann's. I got the wood from the free scrap bin at Home Depot, had the paint and the paper. added some nails, wire, and ribbon, and voila, "Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Decoupage

I haven't done any decoupage since I was a kid. But I always love these type of signs/artwork/decor at the craft shows but would never buy it, cause I figured I could always do that myself. Well, I finally did! And of course I didn't just tackle the most recent upcoming holiday. Had to do a bunch :-) Thanks to my crafty friend Wendy, for helping me get it all out and finally get my blocks done!!
All you need to decoupage is some wood blocks. Paint them up however you'd like. Find some cool background paper/image/design. Put some modge podge all over the block and press the paper on. Do again to attach the letter/word/design on top of that. Add as many layers as you'd like. Finish with a top coat of modge podge and you're done! So easy. And so very cute!
